We are keen to hear the views of people who use the seafront, including local residents, to find out what you think of the seafront, the beach and the facilities on either side of the main road. We would like to know if you would like to see any improvements.
These could be to:
- facilities like the Lido, the Boating Lake, Crazy Golf, Exercise Equipment;
- to help people access the area or the facilities like public transport, pedestrian access, cycle routes, parking, the land train;
- to tourism sports or leisure facilities;
- to the food and drink offer;
- to encourage some of the natural processes that are occurring on the seafront, such as restoring the dunes, sand fencing (to trap windblown sand) and planting more salt tolerant vegetation.
Developments could also include accessibility or education facilities such as hides, walkways or information boards explaining the local habitats and species that live there to visitors.
Any improvements will depend on the Council securing funding and we can’t guarantee that all the changes that are suggested will come about, but nothing has been decided yet and every suggestion will be taken into account.
The long-term aim is to enhance and improve the seafront in a way that responds to what people feel is most needed, and to create a year-round sustainable experience for people who visit the seafront that will plan for and support the local economy, the wellbeing of users and the sustainable management of the habitats found within the area so that the plants and animals found in the area can continue to flourish.
